Based on the Book by Cornelia Funke.

Summary: Meggie Folchart’s mother had left when she was little, and Meggie just accepted that as the most she’d ever know. When a mysterious visitor named Dustfinger comes to visit her father, a bookbinder, Meggie starts wondering about the truth. a few days later, Meggie and her father Mo go to visit Elinor Loredan, a relation of Meggies who loves books as much as she does, and Mo gives Elinor a mysterious book. Later, Meggie, Mo, and Elinor are kidnapped by an evil villain called Capricorn. Sitting in a dank cell, Mo tells Meggie the truth, starting with what really happened to Meggies mother all those years ago.  Eventually, they manage to defeat Capricorn, through a mix of trickery, sneakiness, and an unusual talent.

Movie Review: First of all, they totally changed the movie. If you’re expexting the movie to totally follow the book, then you’re dead wrong. They changed the beggining and the ending, using scenes that weren’t in the book, or that happened in the books sequel, Inkspell. Other than that, the movie was really good. The acting was excellent, and some of the added scenes were really quite funny. I think that the most well done part of the movie is the special effects. They were totally AMAZING. I don’t want to spoil the book or movie for those of you who haven’t seen/read it, but especially in Capricorns “zoo”, with all of the crazy animals, and when Meggie summons the Shadow at the end, were parts that had the best special effects. I think that the movie director did a great job casting and creating Capricorns henchmen. They were really creepy and evil looking and acting. I almost forgot that they weren’t real!

On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being worst and 5 being best, i’d give the movie a 3 on sticking to the story, a 5 on quality (Acting & special effects), and a 4 overall

I totally reccomend Inkheart, even if you haven’t read the book, the movie still rocks!

In the seven kingdoms, children are sometimes born with Graces, extraordinary skills, and must serve their king with their Grace. Katsa, an orphan has the Grace of killing. Despising it, she serves in the court of her uncle, King Randa. One day, she meets Po, a young man graced with combat skills, who is a visitor in Randas court. She never expects to become friends with Po, but the two of them set out on a journey through the seven kingdoms, and Katsa learns some new facts about her grace, could it really be killing? Katsa also learns more about Po’s grace, and they learn a secret that could control the fates of the seven kingdoms with words only.

It is hard to explain how good this book is with just words, but it is one of the best books ever! I would give it 4.9 out of 5 stars. Note, this book is geared more toward kids 13+

Just Like Heaven is a Heartwarming, slightly romantic comedy starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo.  In this movie, David (Mark Ruffalo) moves into a new apartment only to find that it is haunted by the spirit of a woman (Reese Witherspoon), who doesn’t remember any of her past or who she is, and who is claiming that the apartment is hers. At first, she is always bugging David and yelling at him. Eventually, he gets sick of trying to evict her, and begins helping her try to figure out who she is. ( David is the only one who can see her). She begins to remember bits and pieces about who she is. It turns out that she is Elizabeth, a medical intern, who works long hours at a hospital and barely ever goes out, who’s body is on life support in the hospital, and was injured in a car crash when her sister Abby set her up on a blind date. Eventually, David and Elizabeth start to fall in love. When they find out that Abby has given permission for Elizabeths body to be taken off life support, David and his friend sneak into the hospital to try and Steal Elizabeths body. When the plan fails and the life support equipment is disconnected, there is a dramatic moment as Elizabeths spirit slowly fades away and in a desperate measure to try and save her, David kisses her, and………….. I won’t spoil trhe movie, so don’t just take my word for it, watch the movie, but, if Elizabeth wakes up, will she temember David???in this movie, there are many funny and memorable moments. In one exciting scene, David saves someones life as Elizabeth stands off to the the side and tells him how. This movie is truly wonderful!

Just My Luck is a hilarious comedy, starring Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine. This is one of my favorite movies ever! Read On…………….

Ashley Albright is extremely lucky. Money sticks to her shoe, she wins the lottery, and rain stops as soon as she goes outside. Meet Jake, who is extremely UNlucky. Jake is the manager of a British band called McFly, and as he tries to get it’s CD to a man who owns a music store, his pants fall down, he gets splashed with water, it starts raining, and his CD gets run over by the music store owners Limousine. When Ashley and Jake meet at a Masquerade Bash, they kiss and their luck switches. Suddenly, Ashley is arrested by the police as Jake is relocated to a fancy new apartment. Ashley, furious at the person who has stolen her luck, goes on a massive kissing spree to try to get her luck back. And eventually, Ashley realizes that Meeting Jake is the luckiest thing that has ever happened to her. I give this movie 5 out of 5 stars, because it has everything, comedy, romance, action. Don’t just take my word for it, rent Just My Luck today, and trust me, you won’t regret it.

Cannon Beach. Cannon Beach is an amazing place. It has n amazing beach, a fantastic town, and wonderful hotels. How can I even start to describe how wonderful it is!!!!!!!!!!

I’ll start with the town. There’s bright green grass everywhere. The town has a variety of different shops and restaurants, so even if it’s raining, you’ll still have plenty to do. There’s even a glass shop where you can actually watch the glass makers create these bowls with wavy edges that are really works of art. There are really nice restaurants and shops that sell the best fresh seafood. There’s even a used bookstore. One great thing is that Cannon Beach is in Oregon and there’s no sales tax in Oregon, so you can go shopping without worrying that sales tax will wipe out all your souvenir money. There’s also this really great candy shop that sells a ton of tasty old fashioned candy that you can’t buy here, and best of all, it’s cheap!

Next, the beach! The beach is great! the water is usually too cold to swim in, but on a really hot day, it feels great if you take a dip. Also, the beach is great for sunbathing. What could be better than lying on warm sand, smelling the salty air, maybe reading a book or relaxing with a cold drink? Theres also Haystack Rock. It’s really fun to walk down to Haystack Rock and explore the surrounding tide pools.

Next, the hotels. Almost all of the hotels are on the beach, and have great views. My family’s favorite hotel, Tolovana Inn, has a great grassy lawn and a great view of the beach, ad it’s only about a thirty second walk from the hotel to the beach.

That’s why I personally think that Cannon Beach deserves the top spot on the list of top ten ideal vacation spots, but don’t just take my word for it, visit Cannon Beach and trust me, you’ll see why I like it so much!
